At the core of every relationship is trust. When it doesn't already exist, we rely on incomplete signals and weak proxies like resumes, references, and interviews that produce poor metrics for true potential. The data that could cut through that information asymmetry exists, it's just not accessible.
Open Work takes performance data — mutually agreed upon by the employer and the employee — and makes it accessible to workers, and with their permission, anyone else they want to share it with in the labor market.
What credit reports do for lenders, driving records do for car insurers, background checks do for security clearance, and academic transcripts do for higher education, we're building for work.
When fintech allowed people to take their banking data across platforms, they called it open banking. We're applying this framework to the labor market, so we decided to call it Open Work.
We're starting with frontier tech, but very soon, Open Work will be available to everyone from the coffee shop barista and delivery courier to the janitorial custodian and the home healthcare aide.
